  • Sheriff Tiraspol produced a huge shock by beating Real Madrid at Bernabeu
  • But the Spanish side started well away from home with a David Alaba free-kick  
  • Tony Kroos then added a second to put Carlo Ancelotti’s men in full control

Real Madrid confirmed their progression into the Champions League knockout stages with a comfortable win over Sheriff Tiraspol. 

Carlo Ancelotti’s side were out for revenge having lost against the minnows at the Bernabeu earlier in the competition. 

And David Alaba’s free kick gave the visitors a deserved lead before Tony Kroos slotted in off the crossbar to double the advantage before the break.

Karim Benzema scored a beauty from outside the box in the second period and Los Blancos strolled to a 3-0 win.
