Gov. Gboyega Oyetola of Osun on Sunday stated his administration would proceed to make sure spiritual tolerance, peace and concord within the state.
Oyetola stated this throughout a thanksgiving service at Anglican Cathedral, Osogbo, to mark the thirtieth anniversary of the creation of the state.
The governor appealed to the residents and residents of the state to proceed to embrace spiritual tolerance.
This, he stated, was the basic goal of his administration.
“The spirit of non secular tolerance ought to proceed to reign, as this may allow authorities to ship dividends of democracy in a peaceable environment,” Oyetola stated.
The governror attributed the positive factors recorded for the reason that creation of the state to peaceable co-existence amongst totally different faiths.
He stated the folks of the state had been vital companions within the achievements recorded.
“You folks have been with our authorities from the start, supporting us all the way in which, contributing to peace and safety and socioeconomic improvement.
“We owe a debt of gratitude to the management and members of the varied spiritual faiths that function within the state.
“Our administration is dedicated to rendering providers and making life higher for the folks.
“We will proceed to create a peaceable environment for folks to dwell in, perform their companies and practise their faith with out worry or hindrance,” he stated.
Earlier, in his sermon, the Diocesan Bishop of Osun Anglican Communion, Rev. Foluso Babatunji, applauded the state authorities to proceed to prioritise the welfare and safety of individuals.
Babatunji lauded Gov. Oyetola efforts at sustaining the peace within the state since he assumed workplace, describing the efforts as unprecedented and worthwhile.
He urged Osun residents and residents to proceed to assist the Oyetols’s administration in his avowed dedication to reposition the state.
He stated: “As we mark the thirtieth anniversary of the creation of Osun, I’ve so many causes to rejoice the state.
“For the reason that day I got here to Osun, notably Osogbo within the final two years, Osun has remained essentially the most peaceable state.
“No disaster, no violence and no report of any type of insurgency or banditry.
“We should admire this as a result of regardless of the truth that we aren’t as wealthy as different states like Lagos, Kano and Rivers, God has all the time been with us,” he stated.
