Sunday Adetunji is a professional footballer currently with Nigerian Professional Football League(NPFL) side, Rivers United. In a recent interview, the Rivers United star talks about his team, role model, personal target for the season and his side away win at Enugu Rangers.
When asked what makes Rivers United different from other club sides he has played for, he stated that “the standard and culture of winning, the challenge to always be at your best” is what makes Rivers United stand out. On his side away victory at Enugu Rangers, he said “we put in a lot of hard work and remained focus” and acknowledged that Stanley Eguma’s input at half-time played a huge role in his side away win.
Sunday Adetunji has scored a couple of important goals for Rivers United this season and the latest is his goal against Enyimba, the goal that secured all three points for Rivers United. Adetunji said that it was a moment that made him happy scoring against his former team. He further named Enyimba as the toughest NPFL side to play away.
On Rivers United performance this season, he said the team has not done badly and acknowledged the fact that his side can do better.
The NPFL star named Nigerian legend Kanu Nwankwo as his role model, adding that his team target for the season is to win the league and return to continental football. On his personal target, the Rivers United star clearly said he wants to score more goals for his side and continually improve as a player because “you either go hard or go home”.
