Everton Women’s commercial director Sarvar Ismailov branded the team’s performance against Chelsea ‘unacceptable’ after Willie Kirk’s side were beaten 4-0.

The Toffees suffered a defeat of the same scoreline by Manchester City last weekend and now have a goal difference of minus eight after two games.

Ismailov is clearly unimpressed with what he has seen in the last two games and took to Twitter to make his feelings clear.

In a since deleted post, he simply wrote: ‘Unacceptable’.

The 26-year-old is the nephew of Alisher Usmanov, who is the business associate and close friend of Everton owner Farhad Moshiri. He was also appointed to the club’s board in July.

Everton invested heavily in their squad during the summer window, with the club making a total of nine new signings.

One of those was Sweden international Hanna Bennison, who joined for a club record fee.

Everton went behind when Fran Kirby struck in the 25th minute to give the hosts the lead.

It was 2-0 shortly after time following a defensive mix up. Megan Finnigan underhit a back-pass to goalkeeper Sandy MacIver and Sam Kerr was able to pounce on the ball and finish into an empty net.

Kerr got her second in the 74th minute when she headed in from Kirby’s cross before England made it 4-0 with a close-range finish after Erin Cuthbert’s shot came back off the bar.
