David Luiz wasn’t at Arsenal for long but it seems it was long enough to pick up the injury curse.

Of course, this injury has probably got more to do with the length of time Luiz went between playing games.

Luiz last played a game for Arsenal on 2 May, when he featured for 53 minutes against Newcastle.

A hamstring injury then finished his season.

Luiz only signed for Flamengo in mid-September and his debut came last week when he apparently put in an impressive performance.

David Luiz started Flamengo’s second leg Libertadores semi-final against Barcelona SC but had to leave the filed after just 10 minutes when he experienced a problem with his left groin but media in the country report that “the defender’s departure didn’t hurt the team”.

Flamengo went on to win the game 2-0 and 4-0 on aggregate.

At the time of writing, it is not clear how long Luiz will be sidelined for but you can check out the average lay-off times for most injuries here.
