Read what Actress Blake said about late father

Actress Blake Lively has shared a touching picture to her dad following his tragic death. It was announced earlier this week that Ernie Lively had died following cardiac complications.

The actor was 74-years-old at the time of his death, and passed away surrounded by his wife and all of his children, according to The Hollywood Reporter.

Blake, who was one of his five children, has posted a touching tribute to her late father on her Instagram stories.

Sharing a picture with her 28.9 million followers, the 33-year-old has uploaded a sweet picture of herself smiling as she rests her head on her loving father’s shoulder.

The Gossip Girl star shared this sweet memory to her Instagram stories.

The Gossip Girl actress added a brown love heart emoji to the beautiful father and daughter image.

Her husband Ryan Reynolds has reposted his wife’s tribute to her deceased dad to his own Instagram stories.

Ernie was probably best know for his role playing the father of his daughter Blake’s character in the hit franchise Sisterhood of the Travelling Pants but he had a varied and successful career throughout his 50 years in Hollywood.

The dad-of-five starred in feature films such as The Dukes of Hazzard, Turner & Hooch and Passenger 57 but the much-loved actor was no stranger to the small screen either.

Over the years, he appeared on TV shows such as Murder She Wrote, The West Wing, Seinfeld and The X-Files.

In 1979 he married wife Elaine Lively and adopted her three children from a previous marriage; Lori, Robyn and Jason.

The couple went on to become parents to son Eric in 1981 and Blake in 1987. All five of the esteemed actors children followed him into the entertainment industry.

While his youngest daughter may have undoubtedly enjoyed the most mainstream success out of all his kids, her brother Eric is also a well-known face too.

The 39-year-old has appeared on television series such as The L Word, So Weird and has a small role in the first American Pie movie in 1999.

Blake actually has her talented brother to thank for her career as she credits him helping her become an actress.

Speaking during an interview with Radio Free, she said that becoming an actress just seemed like a “nightmare.”

However, brother stepped in.

“I trained my whole life to go to Stanford,” she said. “And my brother Eric … he said ‘I think you’re going to be an actress.’ He told his agents, ‘You have to start sending Blake out on auditions.'”

The mum-of-three claims she initially went on auditions to appease him but within a few months, she landed her role in The Sisterhood of Travelling Pants and never looked back.
