“Barely few days after the defection of the Governor of Cross River State of Nigeria, Professor Ben Ayade, to the governing All Progressives Congress, APC; the Federal Government of Nigeria has approved the immediate release of the sum of N18 Billion for the development of Calabar Free Trade Zone and other free trades zones in other parts of the country”, says Okoi Obono-Obla, former Presidential Aide and head of Special Presidential Investigation Panel for the Recovery of Public Property (SPIP).
Obono-Obla who recently stated this said the release of the whopping sum of money will boost the economy of Cross River State and empowers citizens of the State economically.
Accounting to him: “Pundits have pointed out that Governor Ben Ayade to APC will likely attract more federal government presence in the State. The investment of N18 billion into the State is the second time this year.
“Under President Muhammadu Buhari’s leadership, the Federal government has continued to empower the Cross River State economy and its people.

“In March 2021, the Federal government of Nigeria approved the establishment of Federal Polytechnic, Cross River State. The Federal government has released N2 billion for the take of the polytechnic in October 2021.
“Pundits note that throughout the 16 years of the PDP was in control of the country’s affairs, and no single federal government investment was made in the State even though the people of the State massively supported the PDP in the elections held in 1999, 2003, 2007, 2011 and 2015”.
