Bosnian journalist Haris Mrkonja reports that Sead Kolasinac’s injury is not serious. He’ll still need a scan to confirm the news, but he should be available again by the end of the international break.

This is certainly an encouraging update, after the Arsenal defender was forced off the pitch limping following a red-card challenge in an international fixture between Bosnia & Herzegovina and France.

France’s Jules Kounde came flying in to scythe Kolasinac down as the left-back went to clear a ball near the corner flag, an unnecessary challenge which was converted to a red card upon VAR review.

The early signs weren’t good, with Kolasinac’s limping departure followed by his manager admitted he didn’t “look very well”. Reports on social media suggested the risk of a ligament sprain.

It now looks as if Kolasinac will be back sooner than expected. You’d imagine there’s still little chance of him completing a late transfer to Turkey now, but at least he shouldn’t be filling a space in the Arsenal medical facilities for long.
